We are hiring experienced Data Center Fiber Technician II candidates with strong hands-on experience installing, terminating, dressing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic and structured cabling systems.
This is a field-based construction role. We are looking for technicians who are comfortable working with tools, installing cabling and infrastructure, reading construction drawings and cable schedules, and producing clean, high-quality work in an active data center environment.

Responsibilities
- Install, pull, route, dress, secure, label, and terminate fiber optic cabling
- Install and support single-mode and multimode fiber systems
- Perform fiber terminations and assist with fiber splicing as required
- Test and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling using appropriate test equipment
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling
- Read and work from cable run lists, pull plans, cable schedules, blueprints, and construction drawings
- Install and work with racks, cabinets, patch panels, fiber enclosures, and telecommunications-room infrastructure
- Route cabling through cable tray, J-hooks, pathways, and other support systems
- Maintain proper cable dressing, bend radius, labeling, and cable-management standards
- Identify and troubleshoot cabling, termination, and connectivity issues
- Use hand tools, power tools, and telecommunications testing equipment safely
- Work from scissor lifts and boom lifts when required
- Maintain accurate installation and testing documentation
- Follow project quality standards, safety procedures, and site requirements
- Work effectively with Lead Technicians, supervisors, project managers, and other trades
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optics, structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage, or data center infrastructure
- Strong hands-on experience pulling, routing, dressing, and securing fiber optic cabling
- Experience terminating fiber optic cabling
- Experience installing structured cabling in commercial, industrial, data center, or other large construction environments
- Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6A installation and termination
- Ability to read construction drawings, cable schedules, cable run lists, and project documentation
- Experience working with racks, cabinets, patch panels, and fiber-management hardware
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and cable installation equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot installation and connectivity issues
- Ability to work safely and productively in an active construction environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, professional installations
- Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous data center or mission-critical construction experience
- Fiber splicing experience
- OTDR testing experience
- Optical power meter, light source, or VFL experience
- Experience with Fluke, EXFO, Viavi, or similar fiber testing equipment
- Experience installing cable tray, J-hooks, pathways, or other telecommunications infrastructure
- Scissor lift or boom lift experience
- BICSI certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, or similar construction-management software
What We Are Looking For
We are specifically looking for hands-on field technicians who have personally installed and worked with fiber and structured cabling.
Candidates whose experience is primarily network engineering, network monitoring, NOC operations, server administration, circuit provisioning, or equipment configuration should also have significant hands-on cabling installation experience to be considered for this position.
